Achoo!! [sniffle, cough]

Hello to Mrs Ryan's class!

Flat Stanley and I have not forgotten about you!

Unfortunately I've been really sick for a while so I haven't gone out.

Being the lovely chap he is, F.S. wouldn't go anywhere without me. Instead he stayed in with me and brought me orange juice and Kleenex and tucked the covers around me while I napped on the sofa.

He's a good guy, he is!

He and I have plans for this weekend, however, so there should be more adventures soon!

The British Museum

Hello!

On Saturday 3rd October, 2009 Flat Stanley took the train from Crewe into London. Once we got to London, we went to the British Museum.

We both really liked the Great Court...

...and Flat Stanley insisted on meeting one of the stone lions in the Great Court!

The first thing we went to see was the Rosetta Stone.

This stone is very important because it let people learn a new language! Flat Stanley thought that was very cool (and so do I!).

Then we went to see the Egyptians. This statue of Ramesses II was Flat Stanley's favourite. He liked the beard!

Since Flat Stanley really liked the statues, I took him to see another statue - this one is from Easter Island. (A very lovely gentleman held Flat Stanley - or F.S. as I like to call him - so that I could get a picture showing just how big the statue is!)

After that it was time to head home...F.S. and I were both really tired! So we took a double-decker bus to Crouch End, which is were we were staying. F.S. wanted to ride on the upper deck, so we did. He says you can see a lot from up there!!

We both had a really great time in London. F.S. and I are looking forward to more adventures together!

Manchester

On Thursday 1st October 2009, Flat Stanley took a pendolino train into the city of Manchester, in the county of Lancashire in England, which is one of four countries that make up the United Kingdom.

While Flat Stanley was in Manchester, he visited the Manchester Museum and met another Stanley. THIS Stanley was not at all flat, though! This was

Stan the Tyrannosaurus rex!

You can read all about Stan on his very own webpage!

This is just the first of MANY adventures Flat Stanley is going to have here. Tomorrow morning he's going to London!
